Nis Client setup
1: Edit /etc/yp.conf and add the following
domain nis44dom server sserver2
ypserver sserver1
ypserver bserver2
ypserver bserver1
2:Make sure domainname are set. To set domainname
domainname nis44dom
3: edit /etc/auto.master to point to the NIS server
+auto.master.stv
4: start ypbind and portmap
service ypbind start
service portmap start
5:check if ypbind was able to register its service with the portmapper
rpcinfo -p localhost

Your automount should be working by now. To test it cd to the share folder eg : /oracle/nfs/share
